I love the beauty and drama of lightning storms and gentle rain while I sleep.
Speaking of which, I'm going back to bed for a bit, like I said I was and hour ago . . . . I hope it rains.

if you want people to live a good life to show that happiness is the best revenge, then why not put your words into action and reach out as a real live friend to someone local in your area.
JG - I have some extremely unhappy things to cope with in my life right now. How effectively I cope will affect my happiness.
Right now, I need help coping effectively, and that's okay. Thereapy helps. Medication helps. Friends help. People at discussion boards like this can help, too, but if you find they don't, then maybe there are other helpers for you out there.
I'm not saying leave the board, but maybe a break from it would help?
I'm going back to bed. again. and then to work.
it has been sadly interesting to see fadingeld's and others experiences unfold...wife out the door pronto and some not.
many here are still married, one in one out.
i have basically had a sucessful unplanned fade.
You might want to contact jgnat about some of her strategies. She recently mentioned something about techniques for bringing out the authentic person in your mate, or something like that. I think she has a pretty balanced view, although her circumstances are a bit different than yours, she is also "unevenly yoked."
i'm not after a discussion on the rights or wrongs on abortion, what i'm asking is whether or not your views have evolved over time.. perhaps leaving the watchtower was enough to allow your true feelings on abortion to find expression.
maybe abortion is one of those subjects where you still find yourself in agreement with your old jw self.
did becoming a mother change your perspective in any way or solidify your views?.
As a JW kid, I was, of course, anti-abortion.
As an adult, I became pro-choice and have stayed that way, but I have had to face the complexity of the issue personally.
Oddly, it was becoming pregnant that changed my feelings about whether or not I wanted children; I was pro-choice during both pregnancies; the first was terminated and the second was not.
The attachment that occurs to the idea of having and nurturing a child early in pregnancy can be enormously conflicting for a young woman who thought she did not want kids, and suddenly realizes that it would be lovely - hormonal or what - I dunno!
In any event, it is better for the individual and for society when individual women have more choices (and access) about the number and spacing of their children.
It's better for families, for individuals, and for societies, than for women to have fewer choices. And abortion is only one of a very few choices available in the rather common event of unplanned pregnancy.
hey guys.
just wondering what you guys believe the holy spirit is, according to you jw beliefs.
more questions may come depending on answers provided.. thank you for your time :).
So the god of your fancy might play with our heads and mess us all about to "test" us? What about people who never heard of all the gods? How do you think god would judge them for "choosing" the god presented to them, instead of the right one?So scotty, what of people of religions other than Christianity or no religion at all? What accounts for their healing?well im going to be blunt and say i don't have an answer at all cause I've never even tried to look into it in my entire life and have never encounted healing by another religion other than christian. Can you give me an example of one i can work off?
although as a quick stab, maybe a test from God for believers? i mean if God can do what he did to Job, is it out of our comprehnsion that God would heal someone to test christians loyalty to him upon discovering that healing from a supposable different faith? Or healing may have been something that needed to be done to accomplish Gods plan in a certain circumstance. (we're talking miraculous healing here right?)
Have a sunny day
my christmas card list is a mess - so i am sorting it and getting ready for the first batch to be sent in november.
i am no good at creating mail merges - i use works and it is not well designed for that to me.
so i create labels instead.
Happy Holidays, Jeff. -HH
the old saying "happiness is the best revenge", to me that is the most rubbing statement i can ever hear right now.. .
someone mentioned that jw's dont think anyone can have true happiness outside of their religion, i dont necessarily buy this.. .
when someone is happy inside the borg, they say its jehovah's blessing, when someone is happy outside the borg they say that satan is blessing them.
Perhaps the ones who dissed you are more unhappy than you are, J-G? Sorry you've had that happen. I don't think everyone here would do that to you, though.
Old Yeller
ed to say - Before I read the thread, I was thinking, everyone's going to want to know what I'm talking about, John Doe! I think that might be the first or second movie I actually cried at.
Oh yeah, I just remembered the other one from my childhood that still always makes me cry:
Dumbo.
And no one will ever be given my true identity after that confession!
Rocky
Million Dollar Baby
The English Patient
. . . I'm thinking
